I've done some research on the red one, and I think it might be a Florida carpenter ant, or Camponatus tortuganus. But i'm still looking!

Wow, I just found my first two aletes of the season! A larger red alete, and tiny black alete! What have you guys caught so far? :mrgreen:

It looks like it might be a Asian needle ant or Brachyponera chinensis, they are invasive species in the USA. But dont take my word for it, if you have a description of the size of workers i can compare them to some i have right next to me in a little cut that for some reason are Asian needle ants, ...
