Do you know of any specific professionals? I tried searching for one but all I got were vague ID guides and pest control websites.

The queen isn't semi-claustral so don't feed anymore honey. How can you tell if the queen is semi-claustral?Is there some distinct mark or shape on their bodies? It would really help me narrow down future species of ants I find. Still unsure of the species as well. But the workers have yet to hatch.

So its not a Prenolepis imparis queen? It started becoming more active about 2 weeks ago which I'm pretty sure is early right? This is my first queen and I'm fairly new at this. I've just really been trying to identify it on location in the world and looks.

Can't Identify this Queen!

I caught this queen last year really late in the season (it went straight into hibernation) and has just started laying eggs. Ever since I've been trying to identify it with no luck. I have a suspicion that its lasius flavus but I'm not sure. I caught it on Long Island, New York. I can't really reme...
