Newbie here, just caught a queen! Help me ID please!
Freaking awesome.
I'm in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Halifax, and I caught my first queen! I'm not sure what species it is, but I'm pretty sure it's a carpenter ant of some kind. Please see attached pic, I just hope she's mated.

I think Camponotus herculeanus but pics are still a bit blurry, definitely camponotus though. Good find

Based on the research I've done, it might also be camponotus noveboracensis. What do you think?

Measurements. I should have mentioned this for the Camponotus queen too.
