I intend on going out on a little excursion out to the Black Diamond Mines within this weekend. Hopefully I can get some perfect weather for some queens. Fingers crossed, guys. Anyone got any tips for looking for queens?

Seeing as it's a preserve, I'm not sure you can keep any. But you could try looking under rocks or logs.

Thanks!

If there's none I can get at the park, where should I look?

Suburbs, sidewalks, fields, basically any non protected environment.

Did you find any queens on your excursion? I thought at first that maybe you were calling your ant colony the Black Diamond Mines! Maybe if you looked just outside of wherever that is then you will find queens.
