can somebody identify this queen please.
She was caught in Whittier, CA. On Oct.7,2016. She is about 7mm. thanks

We're going to need to know more buddy! If you can provide us with a picture, that would be great!
And the 7mm is not a guess? I have used the iruler website once to measure my queen's.
If you have a camera, i recommend using macro zoom.
If you don't, the phone might be the next best thing. try to get good lighting and a still photo, and if your phone allows it, Focus by holding down on top of the ant. The closest the better!
We'll need at least a picture of the side, front, and top!

Looks like Solenopsis xyloni or S. invicta, but it is a little hard to tell from the picture.
