Help with identifying the species your ants

I caught her on Long Island, New York. She is around 7mm long. I'm pretty sure she's a worker, but she has a big thorax. Is she a queen? Thank you.

Would it be possible to get a close pic of the thorax? Close enough to see possible wing scars. :D

yes, its still a queen. get her in a tube set up. she looks a little stressed. :mrgreen:

is there a flower shop or a grocery store with live flowers to sell, near you? if so ask them for some "water picks". they used to give them for free.
