And could you get a pic of the head? If you have a phone camera, a magnifying glass help.

No, but I can try to get it today after work!Ants4fun wrote:I am thinking Camponotus discolor. Do you have the length in millimeters.
Re: Amatuer looking for confirmation
Alright, sorry I didn't get this sooner, but I got a little busy after work yesterday. I've updated the album with pictures of measurements (seems to be right around 14-15mm) and better pictures of the head. I hope this is helpful. Thanks!Ants4fun wrote:And could you get a pic of the head? If you have a phone camera, a magnifying glass help.

Re: Amatuer looking for confirmation
test tube set up or something like my camponotus are in .Once first set of workers emerge a little drop of honey to re fresh queen let rest for a week after honey then offer insect parts .I just found out mine LOVE termites flightless fruit flies are a easy option also just put a empty cup in freezer sprinkle a few in frozen empty cup return to freezer for approx. 15 min leave on counter after taking back out of freezer to worm up to room temps and enjoy the feeding frenzy that follows. They do need a period of dormancy so in the winter months put out in your garage make sure if in test tube it does not freeze and they stay hydrated. That is what I know so far.
