Hybrid Nest Or Omni Nest?
I am planning to buy either an Omni nest or a hybrid nest. I am getting either a lasius or tetremorium ant species, but I don't know which one I should use. Please help

You could also make your own. Youtube can help with that.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

Re: Hybrid Nest Or Omni Nest?
Hybrid is matched more to the type of ant. For small species, the omni nest can prove troublesome because of the way it's held together. I can see some small species of ants getting out if it gets bumped or knocked over, which can certainly happen. For my money, I would only use the omni nest for camponotus or other large ants that can benefit from the space and are used to the lateral design. Plus, the hybrid nest makes regulating hydration easy, and has an opening for a heating cable for warmth-loving ants. Just make sure you glue the glass down before you put your ants in (trust me on this one!).
