Two nanitics so far, although one died already. The other is caring for the remainder of the brood. I attached a second test tube as the first one is drying out. The remaining nanitic transported the brood to the new test tube, but the queen is still in the old one. Not sure if she has laid any more eggs...WillWithAnts wrote:How are they doing, Ooper?

Re: ooper's Camponotus modoc colony (#2)
Unfortunately, this colony did not survive. I have another C. modoc colony that I started a few months back. My brother-in-law works at an Apple Store (as in iPhone) and texted me a picture of an ant that he thought was a queen that had wandered into the store. He was able to put it into a cup. I went up to the store and found that it was a C. modoc. Pretty exciting. She is doing well. She has 4 workers and some brood now. Hoping I can grow this colony into a large Campo colony. We'll see.
