Colony doesn't leave old nest

Hey there, I have a question. I set up a new formicarium and tried to relocate the colony into the formicarium by putting lights on the testube and kind of forcing them out of there. But they won't leave, it's been 16+ hours. So this morning I put the cover over the test tube again and to wait for a response here. If there is someone that might have an idea or knows why they don't want to move and something i'm doing wrong, i'd be glad to hear about it.

Uncover the test tube, wet the formicarium that you want them to move into. Cover the formicarium so its dark, when the tube starts to dry out they will move just takes time and patience. Light will cause them to hunt a new nest it will take some time before they will move.

What is the idea behind covering the formicarium?
And by the way, I checked the water level in the tube and it's still full. so i might take a few months before it dries up.

Ants prefer dark and humid, best way to get this environment is to cover the nest.
