I'm new/ test tubes/ ant identification
Hi guys I'm new to the forums and new to ant keeping just wondering where do you guys and gals order your test tubes from (I'll need some large ones I think) and I found my first queen the other day!!! Like I said I don't have any test tubes so I have her in a large (about a cereal bowl size) plexie glass container and I would like some help identifying her...I live in Oregon the Pacific northwest and I think she came from a very large ant colony they create large mounds from pine needles and other debris ( like 3 feet wide and a couple feet tall) the largest nest I've stumbled upon was the size of a small car)...so she is a large black ant that's about all I know i have lots of questions!!

You should take a picture. I just get my test tubes off ebay. Glass costs a little more, but it's worth it. AntsCanada sells them too.

I ordered mine from lake Charles manufacturing.

Really cheap got the pyrex ones, they also have plastic and borosilicate glass.

Welcome!
I'm rather new here too. So take my advice with a grain of salt.
Out of frustration I ordered my tubes form amazon. The seemed to have an ok selection that seemed to work.
As for identification; antweb.org.
Under the "Bioregion" tab select "Nearctic" - that'll give you every ant species in North America.

Hopefully this link works...a few pics of her but now I'm not sure if it's actually a queen what if it is a large major....she didn't have wings when I found her
