Please help identify this Scottish ant
I found this ant this morning after walking my dogs and noticed it was both slightly bigger and a different colour than all the other ants I’ve seen in the area. I think it could be some form of carpenter ant but I’m new at ant keeping so i’d Like someone else to confirm what it is.

Re: Please help identify this Scottish ant
For a reliable ID we need better pictures and some extra information (see attached link).
The best I can say right now is that it's possible this is a Camponotus worker, and most likely not a queen. But we need a length in mm and detailed close up images for better identification. Location of capture is also helpful.
