Keeping formicarium moist
I have a dry loving species of ants but I think they still like a little bit of moisture so how should I keep one part of the formicarium moist and 1 side not ? The formicarium is for pogonomyrmex barbatus .

What type of formicarium? Pics? And all ants need moisture, even if they are dry loving species. Without any moisture, they will literally dry out and die.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I haven't made it yet . Was just wondering when I did make it how is should keep it moist.
Re: Keeping formicarium moist
Would just watering the soil help keep it moist or does anybody else have a better idea ?

What material are you going to use for your formicarium?
Re: Keeping formicarium moist
The base will be wood and the rest clear acrylic . The soil in it will be a 50/50 mix of garden soil and sand . It says in the video below how to make a hydration system . What do you think of the hydration system ? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ReXfS5g_mTA
