Do ants need water to survive
Do ants actually need water to survive? I see AntsCanada putting in test tubes with cotton at the opening and water behind. I wonder if they need water to survive.

Re: Do ants need water to survive
Yes! Ants often don't drink water as long as the humidity in their set up is high enough. If they don't have humidity, they will literally dry out and die (always provide drinking water even if you think your hydration system is good.)
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
