Hi :D
Hi all my name is Jeroen (MisterJSL).
I'm from Holland and I am new here
Found AC from YouTube and love the vid from the start!!
A few weeks ago the first pre nuptial flight has started. Me and my wife captured a few (6 or 7). I don't know what kind of ants they are. My guess is the Lasius niger but I'm not sure. When I can take clear pictures I will
Just wanted to say that it is fun to see that this is a big community.
Having ants is a fun thing!
Thanks for everything!!!!

Re: Hi :D
Sup, you have test tubes for all of them right? with a third water with cotton?
Plus, I would prepare a nest and outworld as fast as possible so you are prepared. As you have about 8 (which is alot) Almost all will survive and have ant colonies, release the ones you dont want, research on the one you want to see how big they get, how much humidity they need, and from that info start buildig a nest (I would recomend building a nest from "ytong", i did, its fun and good, dispurses water and ventalates good. GL!

Re: Hi :D
Hi tiger.
I have them in a test tube separate from each other. It's a plastic one. Can't see them good. I'm going to buy glass ones.
I want to keep one queen and put the rest on Gen. Or set them free.
I think they're laying eggs but I don't know.
Seeing small white balls.

Re: Hi :D
ye those are eggs surely, they will develope over time. I forgot to mentione, is all queens the same species? Because not all queens are fully chlosteral..... be carefull with that, and I would probably choose a queen now to keep and release the others now... Plus, when they have some eggs, its better to leave them in the plastic test tube, do not move them (if you want to release them, just open the lid and place it outside, w8 for a day, and she will have moved out, remember that its easier if she has no eggs for her to move out, that for her to move out with eggs... alot to carry
