What makes crematogaster such a sought after genus?

I don't know, although AntsCanada seems to have exaggerated a bit. They are bicolored, arboreal(mostly) ants that sometimes replace Camponotus as dominant ants in wooded areas. I've found a queen of this genus and actually recently sold her through GAN.

Hmm. They start flying in august, so I wonder what I'll find here in North Dakota. I have found so many different colored and shaped formica, I should get them identified. Now I just need to find a parastie queen for formica, and ill be done looking for them.So I'm done lookin for normal formica. Now I'll just wait for crematogaster.

I have a Crematogaster collony and I love them. They are great escape artist, but what I love about them is that they dont sting me and they dont hurt when they bite u they do make a strange smell when u agitate them. Mine is 2 urs old and already making Queen and King elates.
