Have Nuptial flights of Solenopsis yesterday.

Conditions: Sunny and dry, rained 2 days ago.
Time: around 4PM CDT
Temp: 84*F
Location: Tuscaloosa County

How many did you catch? If I were in one of the areas invaded by them, I'd catch as many as I can, not necessarily to let them establish colonies.

caught 2 invicta queens and a brachymyrmex queen, na no way ill only release the natives and keep the unnatives for food for other colonys. Im in florida

Your trap actually worked? :) the one were u put multiple test tubes together?

trap worked and what u mean multiple test tubes? make that 3 invicta queens

lol I think your thinking of my trap with the test tubes. I didn't end up working to well. I just catch them all the time now so no need to go crazy trying to trap them lol :)

Lol, I k we I had read it somewhere. I really want a Solenopsis invicta queen. I have always been intrigued by fire ants. I have been stocking up on plenty of nesting and our world materials so I'm definately rest for their numbers. I have even started raising dubia roaches as well for their protein source. Hopefully after the rain stops Friday I'll get lucky over the weekend.
