Can i use maple syrup for instead of honey

i have a new queen i caught a few days ago, and i dont have any honey at my house. Can i use maple syrup instead?

Maple syrup (particularly the real stuff) is a great ant food. My ants and I actually prefer it over honey.

what about sugar free?
Ants are in this for the sugar. Fake sweeteners will starve or poison them.

Ants do not like molasses in my experience -- it might not be good for them. Do you have sugar that you can just mix with water?

Seeing as how all the other foods you have right now are unpalatable or poisonous to the ants, sugar water is going to be your best choice. It's pretty good ant food.
