Nuptial Flight Schedules/Sightings For Malaysia (2017)

Creating a topic in order to record down, the dates where our nation's proud ants takeoff.
Feel free to contribute down below with your own sightings here! Or even share some of your, crazy ant capturing stories with us! :D

Monsoon/Rainy Season
Northeast Malaysia: October to March (5 Months)
Southwest Malaysia: Late May to September (3 Months & 1 Week)

For those living in Northwest Malaysia, now is probably the time to acquire a queen ant.
And like most tropical countries, queen ants fly all year around; though not in a huge cluster. For us Malaysians, you know what I mean. :P

In order to maximize your chances of obtaining a queen ant; best to look out for them after heavy storms, particularly afterwards or, in the next morning. Heck, you can even leave your windows wide open, and they'll fly right in.

Solepnosis Sp.
-Mid January (11th - 20th), 2017: Solepnosis Geminata

Unknown Sp.

Oh my god, I've been blessed. After days of searching queen ants, I just landed a Camponotus queen. And I also witness the massive flights of the red fire ants. Guess it couldn't be any better.

Haven't found any speck of ants anywhere. Pretty confident, that I've somehow missed their big nuptial flights.
Though after digging through another forum, I managed to compile a small list of all the possible queen sightings; the species listed, are present here in Malaysia. Bear in mind, this compilation is by no means accurate, and the months may vary.

[Camponotus]
Camponotus Auriventris - April

[Carebara]
Carebara Diversa - April

[Meranoplus]
Meranoplus Bicolor - August - January

[Odontomachus]
Odontomachus Simillimus - February

[Pheidole]
Pheidole Megacephala - August

[Polyrhachis]
Unknown Sp. - March

[Proatta]
Proatta Butteli - April

[Solepnosis]
Solepnosis Geminata - April - May

[Strumigenys]
Unknown Sp. - September

[Tetramorium]
Tetramorium Bicarinatum - May - June
