Queen ant?

Help with identifying the species your ants

Queen ant?

Found this one on my mulch. I'm like 90% sure that's it's a queen.
Around 60 degrees F in Maryland.
The ant is about 8mm long.

To be honest, it reminds me of Aphaenogaster sp. I'll try to get you a better answer.

Now that I look at it, I think Tetramorium sp. I find it odd that it flew so early.

Definitely Aphaenogaster. She probably had a claustral cell from the previous year.

Wile it looks somewhat similar tetramorium, the gaster is to short while tetramorium's gaster is longer and almost more square like. I agree with Batspiderfish. Aphaenogaster. Look up pics!

They probably found a late-flier from last year who had made a claustral cell somewhere in the garden or in the mulch.
