Catching a messor straifrons colony

So I've had my I on on a messor colony of probably 2000 workers under a rock and I am planning to catch it anyone got ideas or proven methods to do so :?:

It is not a good idea to catch mature colonies, especially native ones. I'd wait for their mating season to catch them.

I agree. Digging up a colony is very difficult. I would strongly suggest waiting till flight season.
