My Camponotus novoboracensis colony is doing well. Its been about three months and there are just over twenty ants and two days ago i got my first major!
Today however the ants helped a another ant eclose. I noticed immediately the there was something wrong. Ants started swarming the little guy. It was hard to get a good look but it didnt look 'normal'. Its legs were joined together behind it as if not fully developed. It was alive though.
So... the question is should i be worried or does this thing happen grom time to time? Is it a symptom of something?
Also ehen can i start to see dead ants and what do they do with each other? Ehat is the lifespan of the average ant.
Thanks

Re: Stillborn/deformed ant
The lifespan of an ant goes from around 2 months to a year, depending on the species. Post a pic about the deformity.
