Question about camponotus Castaneus eggs

Hey my question about the campontus Castaneus queen eggs at what stage do the queen actually start to feed her eggs. I also have a test tube set up that I have put some small wood chips in it she moves the chips around a lot and I hope she has the ability to locate her eggs they do some time seem to get separated in the wood chips was that a good idea sence I no this species love to ley there eggs In wet humid logs
