Where should I look?

So this weekend I'm going camping in the woods and I don't really know where I should look for queens. The last 3 queens I found were by looking on a road. Any suggestions?

I went fishing a couple weeks ago by a river and eased off into the edge of the woods and actually found two Camponotus pennsylvanicus queens by tearing apart a couple small logs. I wouldn't even call them logs really lol they were more like big sticks. Maybe 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Just be careful while doing so and try not disturb any other colonies that may be mature already. If you do accidentally Disturbed a mature Colony try to put the wood back together as best as you can.

Under things - look for rocks, logs, stumps, etc. that you can lift up and look under. If you are able to bring a blacklight then that will help a lot too. I went camping for a couple days earlier and found a few queens - the funny thing is that my dad sitting by the campfire found a huge camponotus pennsylvanicus queen doing nothing while I was out running around trying to find some.
Also, make sure to watch out for ticks - they're really bad this year. If you're going into the woods, I highly suggest long pants, sleeves, and a hat too.
