Hey all,
Glad to be part of the community. I'm new to the hobby, and only recently caught my first queen. With a little help from on here, it seems to be Solenopsis invicta. I'm nervous about keeping fire ants my first time out, but I think I'm up to the challenge. My queen is currently sitting in a test tube in a dark closet. Hopefully she will start her brood soon!
A few pics.

Post an ID request. If she is an invicta, however, she can hibernate but does not require one. She would also be fully claustral.
