Hey all! I am happy to finally be apart of this community!
On July 28th this year I caught 6 queens during nuptial flights. Mikey believes they are Lasius (not sure species). They are now in test tube setups and seem to be doing well. When I checked on them last week 5/6 had started laying eggs.
I won't be able to support 6 colonies if they are all viable, so I have talked with MadVampy and Mikey about joining the GAN project. As I would be the only one in Ohio I hope I can help others in Ohio to start and care for their first colonies!
Also I'm looking for camponotus, if anyone in Ohio might catch one I'd be interested in buying/trading.
Since this is my first time I will be full of questions and welcome any and all advice.
Thank you,
Nick

WELCOME! Post some pics in the species ID center and you can have them IDed by the many members!
With all the things ants can do, you wonder, who rules the planet

Thank you all!
Once I get to take some decent pictures I'll upload. My phone kind of sucks and has trouble focusing that close up.
