In my back yard there is this ant colony and I was wondering what species of ant it is(I live in Southern California) this ants don't sting, they enjoy sweets and chicken, and are mainly active when their in the shade or when it is night time. I have more pictures of a worker ant on some white paper, I hope this is more helpful than the previous post pictures. If you need pictures with greater
resolution then tell me and I'll try to get a detailed picture.

Dorymyrmex insanus. Workers from this genus have a cone-like projection on their propodeum (the hind part of the mesosoma/thorax).
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.

Thank you so much, I read up on the ant and it fits the behavior of the ones in my yard. Thank you very much.
