Fire ants

I had multible fire ant queens. When I got a test tube portal I connected all 4 of my tubes to it. (6-8 queens) for weeks the workers and all the queens lived in peace and even huddled up all together. A few days ago I noticed the workers dragging around a queen that was still alive. Later that night I noticed that queen was dead so I took her out. Then I noticed they were dragging around some of the other queens. I pulled off a test tube with mostly just the queens they seemed to be after and kept it separate from the rest. Now in my main set up is one queen and most of the workers. The queens I separated a couple of them are dead tonight but a few are still alive. I wonder what went wrong.

Maybe too small of a set up?

They will get along sometimes, but workers choose their favorite queen and behead the rest. Pretty soon you will only have one left.
