Hello everyone,
I currently have two colonies of Crematogaster ants. One colony has 5 workers and the other had 3. The issue that Ive been having is these workers are dumb as rocks and keep drowning themselves in the tiny droplet of honey I gave them somehow. This has happened twice now, once in both colonies. I am not sure what to do because it has almost been an entire year now since I caught these queens and I assume they need food now since they have had their first generation, but if their workers keep killing themselves it will hurt the colony even more. Does anyone know a safe way to feed these tiny ants, or maybe something I should feed them other than honey? they didn't seem to touch softened peanut butter or a tiny piece of pineapple I gave them.
Thanks!

Re: Test tube feeding
You could put a very small amount of honey or put some apple or bug in there instead.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]
