Hi,

I want to start keeping a Messor barbarus Colony, Would the Ant tower Small delux be enough to observe my ants, make sure they have a good time and keep the safe? After a year i might want to expend, but I would like to start small. What do you guys think? Any advice?

Hi I've started a Messer barberus colony a few months ago and she's still in test tube setup cos they are very slow to grow you d be better off maybe making a simple outworld yourself and buy a better setup later on , the small round tower is very small and by the time the Messer are ready to move they LL prob need a bigger setup than that!

Yeah, the ant tower small is exactly what the names says... small. I keep bigger ants and I bought this as a starter set hopping it would work, but when I got it I realized my queen was bigger then the actual nest itself. there is maybe a half inch of room between the inner and outer walls. If your keeping small ants, it would be ok, big ones, not so much.
