Someone told me the screen on the AC portal was printed... Is this true? How can a 3d printed be fine enough?

The old version of the test tube portal was 3d printed, the test tube portal v2 is not anymore.

Having said that, I have a cheap 3D printer and I can print really high quality which would be more than enough to print the test tube portal.

he means the screen, not the general portal.

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I don't believe the mesh is 3D printed. I bought some scratch and dent items that were not fully assembled and was sent a small sheet of the mesh to cut and glue to the items. It seemed to high quality to have been 3D printed and I don't think it would be very cost effective to 3D print that mesh either. I'm sure they have a supplier they order it through.

It could be printed as 3D printers can make "fabric" from hair thin lines, but it would be fragile I think so it's better to use some flexible pre made plastic mesh like the anti-mosquito one for example

Considering the screen appears to be glued into place I doubt it's 3D printed, I'll check mine a bit more closely when I get home
Also sorry for not reading OP properly :)

I could print that fine with my printer with a 0.4mm nozzle but as others have said I doubt it would be very strong so I suspect it's a sheet of mesh cut and glued in
