Getting a little ballsey for the summer. Going to try and keep this girl for the season. Very careful feeding ahead.

Sorry I am not familiar with Georgia sp. what sp. is she? From her looks she does look like a stinging sp. :D

Yes sir that is a "cow killer".
It is Mutillidae sp. I believe. Not really well versed on them quite yet. And yes they pack quite a sting. Not one I would ever want to feel.

I used to play with them as a child, surprisingly, was never stung. I was shocked when I read that they have a painful sting. They never seemed very aggressive, I let them crawl all over me.

Hey you got the wrong forum, Mutillidae's are technically wasps :lol: , just kiddin, but I was really surprised when I read that they were wasps :o I wish you luck, I also hope that you have sting cream :D

yes, you definitely do have Mutillidae up there. when i worked for the traveling zoo for a while, we went all over the east coast, and midwest. i specifically remember seeing them where we were near Harrisburg, PA. the first one i ever encountered was in Orange, Virginia about two weeks prior to seeing them in PA.

First time I saw these was in basic training in gorgia thought it was a fuzzy ant and it stung my I in the finger def a powerful sting made my arm throb and got very pale,dizzy, and nauseous for a couple hours :?
