Hi Girls & Guys,

I need your help with identifying this queen ants:

I have caught 3 queen ants about 4 weeks ago. At first i thought they are bigger Lasius Niger Queens, however now i am sure they aren't :). The eggs that you see are 4 weeks old (that is the fact that surprised me the most and convinced me they aren't Lasius).
I have caught also 4 Tetramorium queens in the same day, the same day they had eggs, that aren't even half as developed as this are.
The region is Bucharest - Romania - Europe :).
As for the dimensions, about 12mm, bigger then a Lasius, smaller than the Messor, about the same as the Camponatus.
Sorry for the picture quality, unfortunately i can't do better.

Can you please help me identifying the species?

Thanks!

They are Lasius sp. but these cannot be identified further without seeing the hair coverage on the antennae and the teeth on the mandibles.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.
