Male or female? Minnesota,USA (Very new to this)

I found this winged ant last night and am hoping after a 3-4 week drought on my queen searches I found one. I’m not sure if this is a male or female. I have it in a test tube setup but will release if not a queen. I am in Minnesota, USA. It is about 7-8 mm in length.

Any help identifying is much appreciated. I have to say, I’m very impressed by the way you can identify these little guys.
