Ant 1: This is an ant I found out on the pavement, there were many ants like it, but this one had a bigger abdomen. No idea if this is a queen, but I figured this is the place to ask. I don't have anything to measure it, so I put it by a dime for reference. Second picture is from the underside.

Ant 2: Also found on same pavement, only one I found with wings. Honestly not even sure if its an ant, because it has a disconnect between its back 2 segments, with only a small tube(?) connecting them.. Also on dime for size reference.

If you need anymore info, let me know!

I'm looking to keep a smaller species, so the smaller one makes sense anyway. Is it a good one to keep? Or should I keep looking?

Yeah, I think so. Formicariums and test-tubes are a lot like the habitats that T. sessile would seek out in the wild.
