I found this possible queen carpenter while on a foot patrol in Anchorage. Sorry I dont have a measurement. It's not small?

Yes, a queen, and no, Camponotus will fly until July and occasionally in the fall.

Wow in the fall?! That must be crazy for those guys here in alaska. Well I have her in the bottle still I'll get a test tube on the way home from work. I unfortunately work 7 days a week 12 hours a day.

I meant more specific to these. I'd imagine they have some differences considering its covers in snow 60%of the year.

I’d say the only difference would be hibernation time
Been ant keeping for 1 full year now and have 1 successful Tetramorium sp. E colony, 2 Lasius flavus queens, and 1 Lasius neoniger queen! Even though I’m fairly new, I’m passionate about the hobby and appreciate much advise!
