Todays queen catch in Sweden - ID?

Caught in Sweden today.

Queen 1
~12mm (bigger and wider than the second one)

Both Are Formica Rufa
Keeping ants for 6 years now.

Current Species: Camponotus pennsylvanicus, Camponotus decipiens,Camponotus snellingi Solenopsis invicta,Nylanderia sp,Brachmyrmex patagonicus,Pheidole obscurothorax,Pheidole moerens,Pachycondyla harpax

I would think more along the lines of Formica pratensis, based on the dull pilosity (hairiness) of the gaster.

Were in Sweden are you i'm trying to catch a queen in Denmark Copenhagen so any help on nuaptual flight times would bee greatly appreciated :D

Uppsala, so a bit north but as it is coastal it should be quite similar. Just went out the day after a bit of rain in a pine forest.

Cool thanks for the answer, saw that you are applying for GAN and were looking on a map were Uppsala is in Sweden, and found it is right next to "Denmark" :D. I hope you get in to the GAN project i think it is a really grate thing

I just got in! You should really search arounf pine forests right now to find queens.
