Upstate New York Species
Not sure what she is. But she was up early in the morn along with a handful of her other sisters. Foraging on the top of 3 ft tall flowers.. im located upstate new york.

Looks kind of like a carpenter ant from what I've researched. So camponotus but not sure what type of camponotus.

Looks to be Formica incerta, from what I can see.
Camponotus is Latinized Greek (kampe + noton) for "bent back". You can differentiate this genus from Formica by the smooth, consistent curve of the mesosoma. Formica, as well as many other formicine workers, have a saddle-like notch on their thorax.
