I can't figure out if this is a queen...

So i am a starting anthologies wanting to study ants. I found a ant that looked like a Monomorium minimum ant species, or Little black ant (would love to know if they reproduce there queens like other black ants), but it started to pull on its cotton trying to get out of the so said "test tube" i made for it (i check it every few days because first [maby] queen because i am very worried). So i am now afraid of if it is a type of carpenter ant species, and if so (+ is a queen), havoc could be put upon my house, because I know that carpenter ants pull at cotton, same as fire ants, and i don't want it to escape. So last question, should i move it to a dirt setup in a little bottle or just wait till i get proper test tubes?

for photos you can get a Flickr or Imigur account. also one carpenter ant most likely won't do anything to my house. i lost a carpenter ant queen in my house and no ants yet :D (still have not told my mom about that though :? ) also the size is how you can tell the difference between carpenter ants and most other ants. finally here is a video on how you can find out if the ant is a queen

ok, thank you. I have changed its holding setup to a vial (little blurry though), and started to see little workers (only one though :) )
