Caught in the evening on 8 March, inside the house. 10mm long. Very active and feisty. She will pick up her eggs and run around madly when I check on her.

Not exactly sure, but I think it may be a species of Iridomyrmex or Melophorus.
I would be leaning more on the Iridomyrmex side though.

It may be Camponotus sp. too, but 163 Camponotus species live in Australia.
