Very new to ant keeping. I have been watching ants closely for about 2 months. Caught this one, very unfamiliar with it, first time seeing this large.
Was caught Jan 27,2018 weather was cool-warm about 2pm est. On palm tree. Approx 10mm could not measure due to not wanting to stress her out. I think it is Pseudomyrmex cf. gracilis queen. Please let me know what you think. If it is a queen, is this species claustral??

The species is right, but I can't tell if it is a queen or a worker from the underside.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.

Okay caught another ant from a different location. Looks like a worker instead of a queen.
