Looks more like a black Formica species- Lasius queen gasters normally do not seem to expand in length like this one has, they tend to be fatter instead of longer. Workers will give us the answer for sure.

Still, I think it is Formica.

I am unfamiliar with UK ants, but wow look at that physogastrism ("termite gaster" syndrome)!!!

I have seen gasters blow up like this in Lasius, though. If you caught her in August in the UK chances are she is a Lasius but we really need a close look to be sure.
