Queen ant ID plz help

[/URL2]Hello I just caught a queen in mid August in central Ohio and I was wondering if some one can identify her she is roughly 1 cm long and is all black

Formica sp.

If the antennal scapes are longer than the length of the head (excluding the mandibles), then that would make this Formica subsericea. Close second might be F. argentea, if the antennal scapes only reach the top of the head. If the scapes are shorter than the head, then F. podzolica. These are the three eastern, fusca-group Formica spp. with silvery pubescence on at least the first three gastral tergites.
