I caught this queen in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is about 7mm in length. Like the title says I think is a Pheidole queen. Im not really concerned about the species but all I want to know if it is Pheidole or Pogonomyrmex or some other Genus. Also sorry if the image quality is bad my photography skills aren't the best.

I cought a queen that looks kind of like that yesterday, and she's a harvester ant. I believe yours is as well.

Is there a way to tell if she's mated?

Nope! Keep in mind that Myrmica are semi-claustral.
