Hi guys!
While walking in the forest in the Netherlands I found this queen ant. She is brown/red and about 1 to 1.5cm (± half an inch) in size. She was wandering around a dry sandy part in the middle of a forest. I think its a Formica species, in which case she might need slaves? She has laid a few eggs since.
Here are the pictures:

Thanks!

My recognizing skill for ant species isn't that good at all but in my opinion it looks like a formica too...

Formica sp. from the fusca group.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
After some more digging, I think it's a Formica rufibarbis. The coloring and pattern on her thorax match (which is slightly visible in my pictures). Here is a picture of a Formica rufibarbis queen, what do you guys think?
