Looks like Leptothorax sp.

I don't know much about them or their founding habits. If you find anything about keeping them, feel free to give it a shot.

A queen very similar found me as I was waiting for a table at The Crazy Norwegians restaurant in Port Orford, Oregon on July 14th. In my efforts to identify it I would agree with Batspiderfish and would add Stenamma diecki. This is because the petiole shape and the dark brown almost black color. You can see parts of her wings in the photo. Can't find any info on claustral mode.

Well unless your ready for her, you should release her. They are highly dependant on another species to survive.

Am I way out if I say myrmica? Cause of the shinyness of the gaster?
