Hello all,

This is my second post, and I'm new to the world of ant keeping. I was out at lunch looking for queens in Toronto and managed to find several queens but only had one container. I believe that this is a Lasius Niger but I'm not 100%, it could also be a formica fusca but I'd like a second opinion. She's about 1 cm.

Let's try this again.

I think my second guess was correct. Based on specimen pictures of my first two selections I believe this is a formica fusica. I wish I had more containers with me at lunch, could have collected 7 in about 10 minutes in a little more than 200 m

Thanks for the info tiger01vincent, much appreciated

Formica glacialis
