Queen ant ID - Lawrence, KS - 7/13/17

7 mm, black and reddish brown.
Funny story about this one. When I was in the middle of taking pictures and posting the last queen I posted here, which some of you have recognized as being a pheidole species thank you, my girlfriend suddenly said, "oh my gosh, are any of your ants loose, I just felt something on my leg" as she brushed her leg off and stood up. None of my ants were loose, but I spotted this queen on the floor and scooped her up quick. So I'm not sure where this one came from. Appears to be a camponatus species to me.

Beautiful. Camponotus queens in my area seem to be around 2 cm but 100 to thousands in genus.
