Both caught in San Antonio around June 10. http://imgur.com/a/VTm7Y (add files doesn't work?)

I'd be happy just to get the genus of the tiny ones, in two of the pictures. I have several of these colonies, all right after flight. Workers are about 2 mm, queen about 4-5.

As for the camponotus queen, I got her from a log, so I don't know the flight times. I did get a nice picture though.

Thanks!

The Camponotus is a worker. I hope the pen wasn't there for measurement!

The small ants could be Pheidole, but I can barely see them.

My Camponotus worker now has eggs and larvae. :D

But yeah, I need a serious macro camera or something to get the rest. So tiny!

Workers lay eggs too, they are just unfertilized and will become worthless males. Queen pheromones usually prevent this from happening.

Update! http://i.imgur.com/XwVDszX.jpg

I have a new picture of my camponotus. I know she was called a worker, but I think that is a nanitic, right? That should be a normal fertilized queen, right?
