I caught three queens a week ago and would like help figuring out the species. I am pretty sure they are solenopsis. It has been one week and Queen A and Queen C both have more than 20 eggs. Queen B has about four eggs and doesn't mess with them much. Queen A and B are both 9mm and Queen C is 8. They were all caught in Conway Arkansas.

Solenopsis invicta
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.

That's what I thought. Thank you!
Should I let them go? Is that okay knowing that they are queens?

If you let them go, then you are just putting an invasive species back into the wild, so it would be fine to raise a colony of them.emeraldbaker314 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2017 9:51 pmThat's what I thought. Thank you!

If you aren't looking to keep them, freeze them. Arkansas is better off with three less RIFA queens.
